Description

CHINATOWN CULTURAL FEAST This tour provides you with the ultimate Singapore experience especially for those who are SHORT ON TIME but BIG ON CULTURE. And food! Over a short period of 3 hours you will be immersed in Chinese, Malay and Indian cultures and cuisine all in one location. The fun-filled day in Chinatown begins with exploring one of the oldest Chinese temples in Singapore, which was built WITHOUT a single nail! We then meander through the back alley of Chinatown to our first snack stop which is on the list of Michelin Recommended Food. Yes, Michelin. As you tuck into this local favourite, your guide will share the Singapore food culture which is recognized by UNESCO. With a full belly, we will head over to our second stop; the oldest and grandest Hindu temple in Singapore. Marvel at the breathtaking tower as we make our way inside Sri Mariamman Temple, dedicated to the Goddess of Healing. From here, we continue to our way around Chinatown to admire at some of the pre-war houses and more stories, little known facts and trivia until we come to our next stop for a touch of Indian cuisine. Fear not, because there will be options of spicy, non-spicy and OMG Spicy! to choose from. We relax here by the road side coffee shop with a cup of teh terik to watch the world go by. And for our food to go down. Once we are all ready, off we go to the Buddha Tooth Relic Temple and Museum via the Street of Death. Inside this beautiful buddhist temple, we will take a short reverent stroll among the huge gods and guardians and depending on the time of the year, we might actually get a closed-up view of Buddha's Tooth under the golden stupa. As we leave the temple, it's time to for another snack... at the biggest hawker centre in Singapore! It's best to stick close to your guide here as the chances of getting lost is high. Here, you will truly experience the gastronomical cuisine that this tiny island has to offer - Deep fried butterflies, pig-intestine noodles, cupcakes and of course, chicken rice! Once you have your fill, your guide bid you farewell with a full belly, happy memories and tips on the best places to shop in chinatown where you can get almost anything from chopsticks to good luck charms to party dresses. How's this for a feast of a tour :)
